Introduction
My hobbies include philately, computers and programming. In fact, my day job involves computers and programming. I have been a first day cover collector and cachet maker since early 1980's! I do not consider myself a 'dealer' in the absolute sense.
Since about 1999 I have been saving scans of covers, and getting them properly identified has been my best teacher of what is available. The worst thing that can be done to a Cachetmaker is mark their creations as "Unknown" or not at all. Perhaps it was the Cachetmaker who didn't put their logo or name on the covers which creates the problem. My never-ending goal is to have identified all that is out there.
The offline Image Database consists of images from 1920 to the present, with most from 1940 to about 1990. As of February 2011 there are approximately 80,000 images. This is a culmination of countless hours of work! As time permits, I will be adding images to the library.
The vision is to have all of the images online for browsing cover by cover. Until the functionality (and funds) to support such an endeavor are attained, PDF Catalogs will be made for each Scott Number and posted here in the top category FDC Library -> FDC Catalogs by FDCUSA.
It will always be my goal to provide these images online for others to enjoy or reference. It is my attempt to return something to the hobby for all the joy I have received from it. Select the category mentioned above for a list of catalogs generated to date. If Scott Numbers for issues you collect are not listed yet, please ask and I'll generate the catalogs, and post them.
